Ruth Taylor
Since she was a child, Ruth Taylor knew that design was “her thing.” With a humble start in creating furniture for her dolls as a little girl, she now decorates homes and villas in life- scale and proportion. With twenty years of experience as a professional Interior Designer, Ruth is not new to selecting furniture for her clients, but she is brand new to Florida, having previously spent the majority of her life in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Current trends in furniture that Ruth particularly loves include organic materials and the juxtaposition of live edge wood with stainless steel or acrylic bases. Her favorite space in her own home is the family room, which is cream, grey and smokey blue, with brass accents. Ruth describes it as having a cozy feel and lots of texture, but being very serene at the same time. When it comes to buying furniture, her advice is that even if you particularly love a piece, resist the urge to purchase before you have created a concept for the space. This ensures that every piece you purchase will fit right in!
Ruth’s favorite part of a design project is seeing the end result come together, and of course, her clients’ reactions.
